7.5 Subprocessor Security Assurance

Locktera carefully evaluates and manages the Subprocessors it engages to support the Services. Locktera requires Subprocessors to maintain security and data protection practices consistent with industry standards and applicable data protection laws.

Prior to engaging a Subprocessor, Locktera conducts reasonable diligence designed to evaluate the Subprocessor’s security posture, operational reliability, and ability to safeguard Customer Data.

Subprocessors engaged by Locktera are required to implement appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Customer Data and Personal Data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These safeguards may include, as appropriate:

  • access control and identity management controls
  • encryption protections for data in transit and, where appropriate, at rest
  • network security protections and infrastructure safeguards
  • security monitoring and logging systems
  • incident detection and response procedures
  • personnel confidentiality obligations and security awareness training

Locktera remains responsible for the performance of its Subprocessors in accordance with applicable contractual obligations.

Locktera also periodically reviews its Subprocessors to ensure that they continue to meet Locktera’s security and operational standards.

Locktera’s cryptographic container architecture enforces encryption and access control at the data level. As a result, infrastructure providers supporting the Services generally do not have the ability to decrypt or access protected Customer content.
