LOCKTERA TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Persistent Data Security for AI, Cloud & Enterprise

Locktera is a persistent data security platform designed to keep cryptographic protection, authorization, policy enforcement, revocation and audit controls associated with sensitive data as it moves across cloud storage, enterprise applications, AI and RAG workflows, APIs, external organizations and user environments.

Instead of relying solely on the security of the system currently holding the data, Locktera applies security at the data layer so protection can remain with the data throughout its lifecycle.

PERSISTENT DATA SECURITY

How Locktera Persistent Data Security Works

Traditional infrastructure security protects networks, applications, cloud environments and storage systems. Sensitive data, however, increasingly moves beyond those boundaries into AI systems, APIs, external organizations, endpoints and multiple cloud environments.

Locktera addresses this problem by applying cryptographic protection and security policy directly to the data. Protected data can move between authorized environments while access remains subject to cryptographic authorization and policy enforcement.

01

Protect the Data

Sensitive data is placed into a protected Locktera container with encryption, integrity protection and associated security policy.

02

Evaluate Authorization

Access requests are evaluated against applicable identity, policy and contextual requirements before decryption is authorized.

03

Enforce at Access

Authorized requests can proceed to decryption and use. Unauthorized requests do not receive the required decryption authorization.

POLICY ENFORCEMENT

Policy Enforcement & Revocation

Locktera is designed to make authorization decisions at the point where protected data is accessed. Policies can incorporate conditions such as user or group authorization, time, geography, network context, access mode and container rules.

Policy can continue to apply after data has been copied or moved. Changes to authorization or revocation can therefore affect access without depending solely on the security controls of the storage location or application containing the protected object.

Identity & Role

Control access based on authorized users, recipients, groups and roles.

Contextual Policy

Apply time, network, IP, geographic and other contextual restrictions.

Revocation

Change authorization to protected information even after the data has moved beyond its original environment.

AUDITABILITY

Audit Architecture & Chain of Custody

Persistent security requires visibility into how protected information is being accessed. Locktera records security-relevant activity associated with protected data, including authorization decisions and access events.

This provides organizations with an auditable history that can support security operations, investigations, governance and compliance workflows. Audit information can also be integrated into broader enterprise security and monitoring environments.
