This Privacy Policy applies to our website at www.locktera.com and services, owned and operated by LOCKTERA, inc. (collectively, ‘LOCKTERA’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’). This includes policies and procedures for collecting, using, and disclosing your information in connection with your use of the LOCKTERA SHARE service. LOCKTERA provides a web-based and mobile service (the “Service”) designed to assist users who have LOCKTERA SHARE accounts (“Users”) with sharing their information, content, materials, video, images, files, and folders (together, their “Digital Assets”) and analyzing how their Digital Assets are engaged with and/or received by their Viewers (colleagues, customers, prospective customers, and other third parties) who may not be registered Users of LOCKTERA SHARE.
Users may access the LOCKTERA SHARE Service through our website, device applications, through APIs, and through third parties. A “Device” is any computer used to access the LOCKTERA SHARE service, including a desktop, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, or any other consumer electronic device capable of accessing the LOCKTERA SHARE service.
What is personal data?
Personal data is information that can be used to identify a person either directly or indirectly. It includes information such as name, contact details, identification numbers, financial data, location data or online identifiers.
What Information Do We Collect?
This policy applies to personal data and other information collected by us from or about:

While providing our Service, we collect information related to Viewers on behalf of our LOCKTERA SHARE Users. Our use of the information collected on behalf of our Users is governed by our contract with the applicable User and the User’s own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or privacy practices of Users or other third parties. Viewer provided information is collected for the use of the LOCKTERA SHARE User. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of the User. We are not responsible for how the User handles your information.
By using our website or the LOCKTERA SHARE Service you consent to the collection, transfer, processing, storage, disclosure and other uses described in this Privacy Policy.
We may collect personal information from you as follows:
Information you may provide as a website visitor.
You may provide personal Information, such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number, IP address or MAC address. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, Geolocation, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the digital assets viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.
Employment Application or Resume
When you apply for employment through our website, we will collect your resume and any additional information that you elect to provide to us. This includes, but not limited to your contact information, address, employment history and education. In addition, where permitted by law, we may use a third party to carry out a background check to determine your suitability for a position.
Events
We may collect data from you when you attend one of our events, during phone calls, online meetings or meetings with sales representatives or when you contact our customer support and other events interacting with our team members.
Information you may provide as a LOCKTERA SHARE Service User
While using the LOCKTERA SHARE Service as a User, you may be asked to provide your email address, name, phone number, company name, company address, or personal address. When using the Service you may elect to provide the names, email addresses and phone numbers of your contacts. You may elect to sign up for our paid LOCKTERA SHARE Service and provide your credit card number.
Content
In providing the Service, we process on behalf of Users information included in the Digital Assets that Users upload, download, or access with, share, or send through the LOCKTERA SHARE Service.
Information we may collect from you as a Viewer on behalf of our LOCKTERA SHARE Users
A LOCKTERA SHARE User may require you to provide certain information, which may include Personal Information, as a strict criterion to access the User’s Digital Assets that they want to share with you as a Viewer. We collect this information and store it on behalf of the User. When you provide this information as a Viewer, you do so in accordance with that User’s privacy practices and policies. LOCKTERA is not responsible for the privacy practices of its Users, and only processes this information in accordance with the applicable agreement it has with each User. If you are a Viewer of one of LOCKTERA SHARE’S Users and would no longer like to be contacted by such User that uses LOCKTER SHARE’S Service, please contact the User that you interact with directly.
Information We Collect from Third Parties
We may also collect Personal Data, not limited to name and email, through other Users who have shared their Digital Assets with you or referred our LOCKTERA SHARE Services to you. We may supplement the information that we collected from Users and Viewers with additional information obtained from publicly available and third-party databases or services that provide information, such as, an individual’s name, job title, business contact information, and company information, and display this information to our Users as a part of our Services.
Data We Log
When you use the LOCKTERA SHARE Service or visit our website, we automatically record information from your Device, its software, and your activity while using the Service. This includes the Device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, the web pages you view immediately after leaving our Site, information you search for on the Site, locale preferences, identification numbers associated with your Devices, your mobile carrier, date and time stamps associated with transactions, system configuration information, metadata concerning the Digital Assets, and other interactions with the Digital Assets and the LOCKTERA SHARE Service.
We collect this information in order to deliver our Users the reports and analytics as part of the LOCKTERA SHARE Service. This information is made available to Users via the Service (for example, we provide Users with information on a Viewer’s location based on that Viewer IP address) and may be associated with other information about the User and its Viewers (including Personal Data) that Users provide us.
If you are a Viewer who receives and views Digital Assets from a User via the LOCKTERA SHARE Service, we automatically collect information about your engagement with the Digital Assets and our Service. The information we collect includes:
- whether or not you viewed the Digital Assets;
- the date and time you viewed the Digital Assets:
- which Digital Assets you viewed;
- the number of times and length of time you viewed each Digital Asset;
- which pages of the Digital Assets you viewed and the duration for each;
- your IP address and location when you viewed the Digital Assets; and
- your attempts to access the Digital Assets that failed.
Cookies
LOCKTERA uses cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.
How Do We Use the Information We Collect?
LOCKTERA may use your personal data for the following purposes:
Website Browsers / Administration / Marketing
We may use your personal data for administrative purposes, including to help us better understand how our customers, partners, third parties’ access and use our website and services. We may use the information we collect to improve our website and services, fulfill your order, reply to inquiries, provide you with more information about our products, services and other general information. Occasionally we may use your contact information to inform you about our new services that you might be interested in. Users may opt-out of receiving future communication as set forth in the Choice / Opt Out section below. We do not disclose your personal information to any third party without your permission.
Communication

Who We Share Your Personal Information With
We do not disclose your personal information to any third party without your permission.
LOCKTERA SHARE Users
We will display your Personal Data on your LOCKTERA SHARE profile page. You may edit this information at any time. Any Personal Data you choose to provide should reflect how much you want others to know about you.
When Viewers receive Digital Assets from LOCKTERA SHARE Users, we disclose the Users name and email to the relevant Viewer. We disclose a Viewer’s email address and name to the User who sent the Digital Assets through the LOCKTERA SHARE Service, if the Viewer has authenticated his or her email address to access the Digital Assets.
We may also share or disclose your information with your consent, for example, if you use a third party application to access your account. Through certain features of the LOCKTERA SHARE Service, you may also have the ability to make some of your information public. Public information may be broadly and quickly disseminated. Please consider carefully what Personal Data you disclose and your desired level of anonymity.
Employees, Partners, Service Providers and Others
We will disclose your Personal Data to our employees as necessary and required to deliver the LOCKTERA SHARE Service. , We may use certain third party companies and individuals to help us provide, support, analyze, and improve the Service (such as data storage service providers, maintenance services, payment processing, database management, providers of analytics services who help us understand how you use and interact with the Site and the Service, providers of CRM, marketing, and sales software solutions, vendors who assist with recruiting, talent and background checking). We provide personal information to our affiliates and other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
Third-Party Applications
We may share your information with a third party application with your consent, for example when you choose to access our LOCKTERA SHARE Service through such an application. We are not responsible for what those parties do with your information, so you should make sure you trust the application and that it has a privacy policy acceptable to you.
To Comply With Laws and Law Enforcement Requests
We may disclose to third parties files stored in your LOCKTERA SHARE account and information about you that we collect when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with a law, regulation, or compulsory legal request; (b) protect the safety of any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of our Services or LOCKTERA SHARE users; or (d) to protect LOCKTERA’s property rights. If we provide your Content to a law enforcement agency as set forth above, we will remove LOCKTERA’s encryption from the files before providing them to law enforcement. However, LOCKTERA will not be able to decrypt any files that you encrypted prior to storing them on LOCKTERA.
Business Transfers
If LOCKTERA is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, but we will notify you (for example, via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site) of any change in control or use of your Personal Data or Content, or if either become subject to a different Privacy Policy. We will also notify you of choices you may have regarding the information.
Choice/Opt-Out
We may send newsletters or use your contact information to notify you about new products that you may be interested in. LOCKTERA as a Data Controller:
Upon request LOCKTERA will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by logging into your account, or by contacting us at legal@locktera.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time frame. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information or may need to retain your personal information to continue providing a service.
LOCKTERA as a Data Processor:
LOCKTERA acknowledges that you have the right to access your personal information. LOCKTERA has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct their query to the LOCKTERA Client (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable time frame. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information or may need to retain your personal information to continue providing a service.
How We Secure the Information We Collect?
The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received.
